The Fever, it approaches.
I LOVE PLANNING VACATIONS.
There, now you know. I love getting all the details together, making it run smoothly. Putting little packages together for the kids' road trip bags. I am such a nerd.
So I've been hit with The New-Book Fever, which is much like scarlet fever, except instead of germs there is a drive to acquire new books. I think I've gotten all the ones I wanted now, though, and very cleverly, I might add. I did all this comparative shopping on Amazon and half.com and Ebay and got quite a good lot of cheap books. PLUS I have a few on hold at the library, like Garlic and Sapphires. I don't want to take a lot of library books, though, because of the whole lost books thing.
And I've figured out how to get around not being able to read in the van without falling asleep -- books on CD. Duh, I'm not sure why this is such a revelation, but there you have it. It will also help out during the night drives, since most of the long drives will be at night. (As an aside, I figured out that in the van, reading makes me fall asleep; it was only in the CAR that it made me sick. And we sold the car. Not really for that reason, but I like to think it had something to do with it.)
